"Sammie" is a 1.5 year old Bee Bee Canary who loves and bonds well with his person. He's smart, loves to mimic sounds, splash around in water, play with toys, go on trips in his bird backpack and most of all, sit on his human's shoulder all day long. He is happy to fly around the home or perch himself way up high to watch his person go about their routine, but ultimately wants to be your buddy. This little guy is smart and has one heck of a hilarious personality. He sometimes thinks he's a little bat and hangs upside down on things for no reason at all. He thrives on routine and attention. Sammie is being rehomed due to no fault of his own. We are having personal issues and no longer able to keep him. His ideal person or family already has experience with birds and would be willing to give him the time it takes to adjust to a new environment and the amount of social interaction he needs on a daily basis. He has been housed with one other bird, but very much prefers to have his own cage. He's a vocal guy who will let you know if he's happy, curious, mad, or just missing you. We are very careful with what home we choose for him as he is loved and we want the best for him. After meeting him we will require a home (and cage) visit to make sure he's going to the right person. We would also require that if for ANY reason he doesn't work out, that you return us to him so that we can find him another match. There is a $75 rehoming fee which will be given directly to Isle of Wight County Animal Services. His cage will not be included. When replying to this ad please answer the following questions: 1. Please tell me about yourself and anyone else also in the home. 2. Tell me about your experience with birds. 3. Do you currently own any birds or other pets? 4. Do you have neighbors (like in an apartment setting) that are okay with bird noise or foresee any issues? 5. How long are you willing to give him to bond with you and adjust to his new home? 6. Are you willing to return him to us in the event that things don't work out? Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have. Thank you!
