The Ragdoll is also called Josephine’s daughters as the first original Ragdoll was a white cat named Josephine. The Baker’s foundation stock consisted of Josephine, a domestic longhair who has a white coat that concealed the genes for either a seal mitted or a black tuxedo pattern and various other longhaired cats unknown ancestry that she owned or found in her neighbourhood. Then, he selected cats that have gentle, calm personalities, large size, and a beautiful long coat characterized by a Himalayan pattern and then, the result was the Ragdoll. The Cat Fanciers Association began registering the cats in 1993 and gave them full recognition in 2000.
