Livestock Guardian Puppies born April 9th is ready to go to a new farm. She's been spending his time with chickens guineas and cows. His mother "Marley" (Arkbash & Karakachan) has been here around 5 years. Before I got her, it was the norm for predators to be around the farm killing off something every week. Since I got her that all stopped. No foxes, coyotes has took anything. One Bear came by and she had him up a tree, barked non-stop till I was aware of the problem. After that she backed off, waited at a distance, when bear came down she was after him again till he went back up another tree. She backed off and waited again. That cycle kept repeating itself till the bear was far enough away that she left it along. I've lost only a few chickens & guineas in 5 years. Those was took by Hawks and she has learnt that. Now she not only watches the land, she watches the air and if any bird bigger than a crow flies over she's on the move making sure it stay in the air and moves away from the animals. His daddy "Appa" is a year and few months old (Arkbash, Karakachan & Maremma) Again all well mannered livestock breeds. His owners had to move to xxxx and wasn't able to take him with them. He's shy but a very gentle dog. Marley been teaching him also. He was raised with chickens & ducks but not cows. This puppy need to be in a working environment with livestock to look after. That's what the breed was bred to do & love to do. They not a house or a city dog. They need some acres to watch over and take care of. Mom & Dad both love children and the puppies have been playing with kids around here. The breeds are good family dogs but again need to have animals to watch over.
