Things to consider if you didn’t know about getting puppies in Paradise from outside the state: Quarantine: oh what an awful term and even harder is the heartbreak that comes with seeing your puppy in the state kennel. The puppy must be 4 months and have at least first rabies shot,and that’s just to fly in. Most people charge to keep 8 weeks longer. For 120 days the price is just under $1500. Transportation: beyond how traumatic this can sometimes be there must be someone that flys on the flight, and specific forms that change between who you talk to.. the transport of the pup is between 300-500 plus the cost of a ticket for you. Transporting services are available for a hefty price though, especially if they come from outside the US like our big boy papa bear Kahu who flew here from England. FAVN/TITR: all of this comes down to one thing. Hawaii is proudly a rabies free State. You can cut off some time if they pass a rabies enzyme test. If done on island it is minimum $800, and you must wait for results that take 6-10 weeks to process and can only be done at least 10 days after 2nd rabies shot.
