For sometime now, we have had to take in 4 cats on top of our own 2 cats due to family medical emergencies, the passing of 2 family members, job loss and pet emergency surgery. This was supposed to be a temporary for a few weeks until our family members could get back on their feet, but that is not the case now. We are having a baby soon and the living environment is not working well for all the cats. We currently have 5 adults and 6 cats in the house, and there is very limited space for all of us and the cats do not get along with each other, and fight alot. Due to all cats in the house, one of our own cats had to have emergency surgery due to all the stress and anxiety that this living situation has caused. Our cat is now on a prescription only diet, and is very costly to keep up with his food and the other 5 cats food. We have tried everything from getting advice from our vet and trying different products like the pheromone plug-ins, but nothing seems to help. We are at a loss and do not know what else we can do to make this living environment better for all of them. We definitely do not want them to go to a shelter, and hoping someone is willing to take in the 2 cats. The 2 cats that we are trying to re-home are black short hair cats, 7 years old, one male and one female (they are siblings). Both of the cats are very sweet with a ton of personality, and love to perch on the window sill or be out on the patio to watch birds and squirrels. If anyone is willing to adopt the 2 cats or knows someone who can, please message me. If you are unable to adopt the cats, please, please, please share this post with your community/network. Also, if anyone lives in an apartment, I am willing o help with the cost of the pet deposit and provide food and supplies. Please help us find a forever home for these 2 sweet cats.
