Sokka is a one-year-old beagle/terrier mix rescued as a stray by Nashville Humane Association and recently adopted by myself and my fiancé. He quickly showed signs of extreme distress, anxiety, and panic as soon as we put him in a crate, left his sight, or even had a physical barrier between us, like our pet gate. Even though Sokka is a goofy, charming boy whom we love very much, we have realized that we are not equipped to handle his severe separation anxiety. We want what is best for him, and he needs more experienced owners who are patient and prepared for slow progress.
