Buddy is a purebred border collie. He is well-mannered, curious, and active. He is a well-rounded border collie. Unlike many border collies, who are hyperactive, buddy is active, but not hyper. He can turn it off, relax, and stay calm for extended periods, but he can also play and heard for lengthy times.
Buddy is well socialized and gentle. He does well with his siblings, neighborhood dogs, neighborhood children, and adults. Like all border collies, he is very bright and already nearly house broken. He has learned several commands.

Just so you know, our dogs come from a line of purebreds raised on a country farm. The people we got them from, being from the countryside, didn't have any registration with Border Collie associations or anything like that. At first, I was a bit hesitant, but since we weren't planning to enter them in shows or competitions, but rather wanted to give our children the joy of raising puppies, we started with a long-haired father.
Then, when looking for a female companion, we discovered later she was actually short-haired (smooth hair). I always thought Border Collies were only long-haired, but it turns out short-haired is also purebred. Short-haired ones are rare around here, especially brown ones, but the puppies' maternal grandfather was brown, so our little ones have a bit of brown in them. It's really a wait-and-see game to find out if they'll be long or short-haired, and how their color develops. People seem to like unique things, so they're quite excited when I tell them about these traits... Lastly, the father is very kind, affectionate, patient, and strong, while the mother is incredibly smart, focused, and athletic.View Detail
