This female calico kitten showed up in our yard in late June. She is now 8 weeks. She's very sweet, high energy, and playful. The Tacoma shelter is not accepting any new animals at the moment, and we want to make sure she doesn't stay on the streets. She uses a litter box with no issue (learned very quickly), and plays with a scratch post and toys very well. She has had no issues with the adult neighborhood strays, as well as no issues with some younger kittens we found a bit before Calico came to us. She has shown no aggressive behavior despite clearly being nervous around people. We are potentially keeping the two younger kittens, and knew when we found Calico that we didn't have the ability to keep all three cats. But, after waiting several days to see if the mom would come back for her, we decided to feed and socialize her with our other kittens until she was old enough to legally put up for adoption. Since finding her only 2 weeks ago, she has rapidly grown more comfortable around us, often sitting or sleeping close to us while we are outside. We have not tried to push her as far as petting and picking up goes, but she has let us pet her on several occasions. It may take some time for her to get comfortable. 8 weeks is the recommended age for vaccinations and flea treatments to be administered. Since she only just turned 8 weeks old, she has not received either. She is unspayed due to her age as well. **If you would like to buy this cat, please bring your own carrier and plan on handling getting her into it on your own.**
