Please read! I went and got this girl last month after I came across her post on hoobly. Drove between 2 and 3 hours to get there. She looked awful. There was no way I was leaving her with that lady. She is supposed to be 3 yrs old but has no papers. The pictures in her post only showed her face and were blurry. The lady tried to say she was finding a home for her for her friend but I think that was a crock. She was skinny, sores all over, tips of her ears are gone (not cropped but like the tips were ripped off). I honestly didn't even look her over. I was so mad to see her in that shape that I just paid her and put her in our van. We had stopped and got kfc on the way there and still had some leftover. As soon as she got in the van she grabbed a biscuit. She was starving, literally. I had to go next door to a family dollar and buy her food, bowls, gallon of water, leash and collar (the woman took her collar said it was hers even though she was supposed to belong to her friend) and some bones and chews. I hadn't checked her teeth or I wouldn't have gotten the bones and chews. She has front teeth but the sides are basically all rotten and nearly nonexistent. I called the vet right then and got her scheduled, they saw her a couple days later. They worked her in with my Boston puppies. I was going to schedule to have those bad teeth removed and the rest cleaned but the vet said she was in too bad of shape, to wait until she's gained weight. He gave us antibiotics for her. She's SUCH a sweet dog. My 12 yr old daughter fell in love with her, so my dad let her have her. We intended to just keep her as a pet. She shouldn't be bred both because of what she's went through, and because she isn't good enough quality. She needs spayed. But again, can't be until she's in better shape. Unfortunately she really likes to kill chickens. She's fine with other dogs and even cats. Very gentle and even plays with them since she's gained some weight (still has a ways to go though). We can't keep her inside constantly. She gets out when the kids run in and out and when she gets out she goes straight for the chickens. That's why we're looking for the perfect permanent home for her.
