24 year-old double yellow headed Amazon that I have had for four years. He had one owner previous to me and the owner had passed away. I did not have any Parrot experience as I would say one has to have especially with a double yellow headed parrot! He says a few words, and we'll talk when I walk out of the room but mostly just makes cute little noises. Loves to be in a crowd, but does not like to be touched unless his head is being scratched by me. I spray him with water once a week which he dearly loves. I walk him around on his cane through the house . He is mostly out on a perch in whatever room I'm in and will squawk if I'm not in there. I keep his wings clipped so he can sit on his perch and I don't have to worry about him flying into the windows. He loves to watch TV and enjoys. sounds as I still groom dogs a little bit and he goes with me. I have just gotten to the point where I'm not home like I used to be so don't have the time I used to spend with him. He has been sexed and goes to the vet twice a year, which includes one check up a year. He loves to play with toys and chew on wood. I have several cages plus a carrying cage that will go with him.
