The general rule of thumb for picking the right size cage is that your dog should be able to sit down, lie down, stand up and turn around without touching the sides of the cage. If you measure from the nose to halfway down the tail and from the floor to the top of his head and add 4 to 6 inches to each measurement, that will be the approx. size cage you need.
