I can't do it anymore. I love this dog with all my heart, but he keeps getting out of the house. He REFUSES to stop escaping by ANY means he can find. I have done everything I can, and he doesn't watch for cars. Last time he got out he ran full force into a fire hydrant and hurt himself pretty bad. Still kept on running. He is up to date on his shots and yesterday was his 1 year birthday. I can not handle watching him ran away 2 or 3 times a week wondering if I'll catch him this time. Wondering if that car will hit him. He thinks it's a game and will taunt you. He is AMAZING with kids. I have 3 that adore him, but even they agree we would all die if he got hit by a car. I paid 1200 for him, but he is a year old, and a massive troublemaker. So I reduced the price. Please, if you want him, have a tight privacy fence. Try to make sure you NEVER leave your door open, not even for a second. His name is Maverick, and I just want him to go to a good family. I write this with tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. But I know I can't watch him get run over or not catch him and wonder what happened to him. I had planned on building a privacy fence to keep him in our yard, but he has escaped out the front door 4 times in the past week because my kids and the neighborhood kids just being kids. I have the papers to ckc register, I will sign them over. He has a brand new bag of food as of this morning and has a leash and collar. He gets along super well with other dogs. He has grown up going to the dog park, you just have to go where they have high fences he can't jump. Kittens are a no go as he's too hyper and hurts them by accident, bigger cats are ok because they can tell him to stop. I have an older cat that doesn't put up with his puppy antics. Once you let him off the leash at the dog park be prepared to stay for at least 4 hours (may be longer in the colder weather) until he collapses because he WILL NOT come back to you until he is done playing.
