We rescued Maizy from a local, reputable animal rescue. She was originally found in Mexico, around 6-7 months. Initially, Maizy was very timid, cowering if we tried to reach out to pet her. You could see the sadness in her eyes. She was/ is so sweet and it was clear she likely wasn't treated well in Mexico, assuming she was on the streets. Eventually, she gained confidence in our home and became more comfortable with the people coming and going. Maizy is currently about 16 months. She's the absolute sweetest, LOVES to snuggle, LOVES to be close/ sleep in bed, etc. She is crate trained, but also knows how to use a doggy door. She's playful, but knows where her toy bin is, never eating anything she shouldn't. She's curious and loves other dogs, kids, cats and kittens. She's very sweet, unless playful, in her approach. Unfortunately, Maizy's anxiety has taken over. She paces, barks, etc and needs someone who can work with her to reassure her the outside world is a "safe place".
