In a regular litter of 4-6 pups there will be on average one coated pup but they are the ones that help this breed to keep teeth. Hairless xolos often have teeth missing which is not a defect, it’s just a specificity of a gene that makes them hairless, and if it wouldn’t be for coated xolos the breed would have no teeth. Owners of coated xolos share these benefits: they rarely have any skin care needs, they keep warm in the winter, and even though they have fur, there is no undercoat therefore no shedding. Coated xolos are considered as hypoallergenic dogs because of limited shedding. They shed their fur pretty much as we shed our hair.
