English setters are great family dogs and good with children. We do sell as pets. The are very affectionate dogs. Love to cuddle and be couch dogs. Love to swim play fetch. Hair coat is easy as breeding is a sport coat. Don not shed a lot of hair need very little grooming. Medium size and have a willing disposition to be couch dogs or kennel dogs. As pets are willing to be a walking companion daily or a hunting gun dog. If desired a great competitor at a field trial. Both types are good retrievers and love water. They also have ability to be a back yard dog with a fenced in area to run and play with children.
