“MINI” SETTERDOODLE PUPPIES
3/14/24 UPDATE. PUPPIES ARE NOW READY TO LEAVE…1 FEMALE, 4 MALES STILL AVAILABLE. This is now my 3rd litter of Setterdoodles but this will be a smaller MINI version since the sire of this litter is a MINIATURE Poodle . Mom is my Reg. Llewelyn English Setter ( smaller size of English Setters) 42 lbs, dad is my Purebred Miniature Poodle 11 lbs. Both parents have been DNA health tested prior to breeding. Ive gotten excellent feedback from the new owners of the previous litters. ..colors are Parti, Phantom and a Sable. The English Setter and many of the other hunting breeds were very popular in the 50s and 60s, known to be very devoted family pets that do very well with children (I can attest to that. I grew up with an English Setter as a small child). They seemed to have dropped in popularity due to the fact that they shed. I bred my English Setter to my poodle to help eliminate some the shedding but still preserve the wonderful qualities of the, always happy, English setter. The poodle being one of the smartest breeds of dogs and non shedding just seemed like the best doodle combination yet. I am happy to say that the new owners of the last litters are in total agreement. These pups will be smaller than the Standard size. The puppies have been vet examined, have first vaccinations and are kept on a deworming program. My puppies are born and raised in my home as new members of my household. This makes them very well socialized and better able to adapt to their new homes. This has been my method of raising my puppies for over 40 years. No kennels or puppy mills here. Will be a strong Gentleman dog for foot hunting or house pet with ability to hunt at preserves or hunting land. Strong retrieve and does well in agility sports.
The breeder guarantees puppies to be healthy when they leave the breeders kennel, to have the genetic potential to be a gundog, and not have hip dysplasia before 26 months of age as determined by the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals. Every puppy that is purchased will be examined by a veterinarian prior to the sale to ensure that it is in perfect health. This guarantee entitles the purchaser to a new puppy from the next litter upon the return of the purchased dog to the breeder’s kennel or other mutually agreed upon disposition of the dog. The breeder is not liable for costs associated with any treatment of the purchased dog unless agreed upon in advance by the breeder and in lieu of providing a replacement puppy. The owner will have the purchased setter certified by the OFA to be free of hip dysplasia prior to breeding it. Breeding the purchased setter prior to having a OFA certification will void the warranty.

English setters are great family dogs and good with children. We do sell as pets. The are very affectionate dogs. Love to cuddle and be couch dogs. Love to swim play fetch. Hair coat is easy as breeding is a sport coat. Don not shed a lot of hair need very little grooming. We are open to clients who do not hunt but love a English Setter as a pet only. The field trial line at Wild Bird Setters is a combination of quail stakes and grouse stakes dogs who are multiple champions in their pedigree. Medium size and have a willing disposition to be couch dogs or kennel dogs. As pets are willing to be a walking companion daily or a hunting gun dog. If desired a great competitor at a field trial. Both types are good retrievers and love water. They also have ability to be a back yard dog with a fenced in area to run and play with children.
