10 Month Old Great Dane/Pitbull Mix
I adopted a 10 month old Great Dane Pit Bull mix, named Radar, a week ago that I unfortunately wont be able to keep. I own 4 cats and after getting Radar home, it became clear that his original owner lied about him being safe around cats. He isnt safe around them at all. That means I cant keep him. It absolutely kills me to have to rehome him but I just cant take the chance that he might kill one or more of my cats.
Radar seeks attention from me all the time, loves to play fetch, and lay with me. Hes a huge love bug! When I first met him, he DID bark aggressively at me but never tried to bite me. 10 minutes after our first meeting, when he could see that I wasnt going to hurt him, I was petting him without any problems. Not long after that, he wanted to be around me all the time. The problem is, the woman I adopted him from socialized him with dogs but not people. That means it takes him a little while to understand that you dont want to hurt him, if he doesnt know you. After hes had time to see that you dont mean him any harm, hes a teddy bear! He DOES warm right up to kids though. Be warned, Radar IS a jumper. So, youd need a 6-foot fence around your backyard if you adopt him.View Detail
