Our little nine-pound tricolor Maltipoo guard-dog Hazel has found her true love in our thirteen-pound red miniature poodle Barclay.
On Saturday evening 27 January at a civilized 7:00 pm, Hazel went into labor. We were guessing two puppies and thinking maybe four. We were surprised by beautiful number five. My husband went down to let out our other dogs, and I switched out Hazel's cushion. Forty minutes later, along came number six.
Acorn, Daikon, and Elmtree (boy, girl, girl) are a very light gold with shimmering platinum highlights.
Bayleaf and Fennel (girl, boy) are redder and will probably be as red and curly as their sire. Fennel has striking black foot pads.
Catnip (boy) is solid smooth ebony black with a long, artistic chin-to-belly white soul-patch and tuxedo.
Several of their little pink noses are darkening. We started their neurosensory procedures today.
