Airedale Terrier Pups.
On 12/20/16, we welcomed eleven wonderful Airedale puppies into the world. The mother and father's parents were all AKC registered, but ours have not been registered- we didn't receive papers for the mother. We will have the father's registration documentation on-hand, if you require proof. Both parents will be on site, and the pups will be available on 2/14/17. They will have had their first shots and deworming by the time of pick-up. We do not remove dew claws (if present) or dock the tails of our pups- if you wish to have them done, it will be your responsibility after taking your puppy home. The AVMA now discourages tail docking, and is being increasingly banned in most countries. We wish that the pups' parents had not had theirs done, so the option to do or not do yours will be for you on your own accord. If you have never owned an Airedale, you need to research as much as you possibly can before buying one from not just us, but from anyone. They are extremely active dogs that MUST have a fenced-in place/large land tract to run or daily walk/playtime, require hours of attention EVERY day, will dig holes in the yard, and follow you wherever you go, every time you leave a room or the house. They cannot EVER be struck/hit/slapped/smacked/punched/kicked as punishment. Airedales are extremely sensitive, and will never recover from being abused or even picked on. They are unbelievably intelligent, loyal, affectionate, attentive, fearless, curious, and want to be with you every second of every day. They shed very little, have almost no "dog" smell (even when wet), and have very little in the way of health issues, but it is very, VERY highly recommended that you give them a glucosamine hip/joint supplement daily. Airedales grow rapidly, and malnourished ones have been prone to developing hip dysplasia. The average Airedale will live between 10-14 years, depending on the most typical factors. Millie (the mother) is very, very sweet, laid-back, and loves to spend hours just laying with us. She's lightning-quick and will chase off every bird she gets the chance to. She's very friendly, and has been the picture-perfect mother to her pups. Miles (the father) is extremely intelligent, affectionate, loves hugs, will lick you to death, wants to please more than anything, wants to know what is going on everywhere at all times, and is a complete HAM. He is the epitome of a goofball, and does things just to get us laughing on a daily basis. He also LOVES having his picture taken and being dried off with a towel when he gets wet. Again, if you want a lounge-around dog that is only a companion when you want it to be, live in an apartment in town by yourself and work full-time, plan on chaining the dog to a tree outside with minimal contact, do not have a large fenced-in area/giant farm for it to run, have aggression/insecurity issues that lead you to take your issues out on pets, do not intend on the dog to be your #1 priority every day for the next decade, an Airedale is NOT the right dog for you. These things are not "open to interpretation"; the puppy's happiness, safety, comfort and environment are vital to you two sharing a long, rewarding, and enjoyable life together. Our dogs are inside and outside dogs who always sleep inside, and are in and out of the house usually around twenty times a day. If you have white carpet, nice clothes that you don't want paw prints on, or are meticulous about your house being spotless... nope, you don't need an Airedale. We have six remaining puppies that we want to make sure are going to the best homes possible, and we request that you provide as much information about why you and your home are the right choice for one (or more) of them. Our dogs are accompanied by someone 24 hours a day nearly every day, so if you have a daily window of several hours where the pup/dog will be alone, we recommend getting two, because they require constant companionship, and believe it or not, are a little less destructive as puppies, when in pairs. This will be Millie's only litter, as we generally don't like to see purebred dogs being bred without paperwork, so we'll take the blame ourselves for not being as vigilant as we should been. The price of the pups reflect the absence of paperwork, not the quality of the litter. You will be sent pictures and updates of the pups as they grow, up until the pick-up day. We WILL be able to work around your schedule to some extent as far as picking up your pup(s), but would prefer for everyone to show up on the same date. Payment to be made in cash, in person, on the pick-up date. No checks or Nigerian Promissory Notes, sorry. Pictures of our Airedales through the years, as well as more of the puppies available on request, at any time. Thank you!View Detail
